This Instagram audio downloader is for one job: take a public Reel or feed video link and return the sound track as MP3 — without the video. That is different from the Video or Reels tools, which keep the full clip.

Paste a public link when you want music, a voiceover, speech, or ambient sound for personal offline listening. Results depend on Instagram exposing a separable audio stream; muted clips, photo posts, and private URLs will not produce a download. What audio mode does (and does not)

Audio mode extracts a listen-only file from public Reel and feed video links. It does not save Stories, profile pictures, or photo posts. Need the full clip? Use Video or Reels above.

Success means an MP3 (or M4A), not an MP4. The picture is intentionally omitted so the file stays small and plays in audio apps.

Caveat

Needs a separable track

If Instagram only serves a combined stream or the post is muted, audio mode cannot invent a soundtrack. That failure is expected, not a bug.

What does not work

Private, deleted, muted, or photo-only posts are not supported — Instappa cannot invent a soundtrack. Stories, profile pictures, and carousel stills without video audio also fail here. If a public clip has no separable track, use Video or Reels for the full file instead of retrying audio mode. Confirm the link opens logged out and has sound before pasting again.

Why might audio be unavailable for a public video?
