Who maintains Instappa
Instappa is built and maintained by Hanska. We are a small independent publisher focused on practical browser tools for public Instagram links — not a Meta product, agency, or large media company. Product decisions, editorial guides, and day-to-day site updates are handled directly by Hanska.
Our purpose is simple: help people save public media they already have the right to access, with as little friction as possible, while staying clear about what the tools cannot do. Start on the Instagram video downloader or browse the full suite from the home page.
What we do not do
Instappa does not support private accounts, restricted posts, or content you do not have permission to download. We do not bypass logins, paywalls, DRM, or authentication. We do not ask for Instagram passwords, session cookies, or private account data. You are responsible for using downloaded media in line with copyright law and each platform's terms. For plain-English rights guidance, see copyright and personal use.
How the downloader workflow works
Instappa is designed for a straightforward browser workflow: paste a supported public URL, resolve available media formats, and download the file directly to your device. We focus on reducing unnecessary friction such as forced app installs, mandatory registrations, or confusing multi-step redirects. In most cases, you can complete the full process in less than a minute when the source link is valid and publicly accessible.
Behind the scenes, our resolver checks public metadata and media availability exposed by the source platform. If a link cannot be resolved, confirm the content is public, the URL format is supported, and try again after a short wait in case of temporary platform instability.
Editorial and update standards
We document known failure patterns for real public URLs, explain why specific errors happen, and keep product behavior honest about what is and is not supported. Guides and on-page help are written to answer the questions people actually hit — wrong tool, private visibility, expired Stories, and rights limits — rather than to overpromise unsupported scenarios.
- We prioritize clear guidance for public-link workflows only.
- We note limitations explicitly instead of hiding them behind marketing language.
- We update tools and guides when reliability data and platform behavior evolve.
- We keep About, Contact, Privacy, and Terms reachable so readers can verify who runs the site.
Frequently asked questions
Does Instappa store downloaded videos?
No. Instappa does not operate as a long-term media hosting service for your downloads. Download links are generated for retrieval, and you save files directly on your device.
Why does a link sometimes fail even when it looked valid?
The most common causes are private visibility settings, expired share URLs, deleted source posts, or temporary platform-side throttling. Check that the link is public and still live, then retry.
Can I use Instappa for commercial workflows?
You can use the tool only where you have lawful rights and permission for the underlying media. Please review our Terms of Use, the copyright and personal use guide, and applicable copyright rules before reusing downloaded content commercially.
