Save live Instagram stories before they expire

Instagram stories disappear after about 24 hours, and there is no built-in save for someone else’s story. This Instagram story downloader is for currently live public story links — paste while the ring is still active, not after the slide vanishes.

A regular story is temporary; a highlight is a story slide the account pinned to the profile and keeps available longer. Both can work here when the URL is public and still reachable (instagram.com/stories/... or .../stories/highlights/...). Feed posts, Reels, and profile pictures belong on other Instappa tools. What does not work

Expired, private, or close-friends stories are not supported — and expired slides cannot be recovered after Instagram removes them. Feed posts, Reels, and profile pictures are the wrong URL shape for this page. If a link fails, confirm the story is still live while logged out, then paste a fresh /stories/ URL. How long do Instagram stories last?

Regular stories expire after about 24 hours. Once Instagram removes them, the link stops resolving and Instappa cannot recover expired slides. Save while the story is still live.

What story link should I paste?

Paste a currently live public story URL — for example instagram.com/stories/username/ or a direct story link with a story ID. Expired or private story links will fail.

What is the difference between a story and a highlight?

Stories are temporary (about 24 hours). Highlights are story slides the account pinned to the profile and keep available longer. Highlight URLs look like instagram.com/stories/highlights/... — this tool can open those public highlight links while they remain reachable.
