Public Social Video Download Reliability (2026)
Ongoing benchmark measuring resolve success rate and latency for public links across supported platforms. First published July 2026; refreshed as new test cycles complete.
Methodology
- Sample set: public URLs per platform (reels/posts/watch links).
- Tooling: Instappa resolver pipeline and `scripts/test-resolver-platforms.mjs`.
- Metrics: success rate, p95 latency, audio availability, max observed quality.
- Cadence: weekly runs; this page updates when a full cycle completes.
Initial benchmark snapshot (Cycle 1)
| Platform | Success rate | p95 latency | Audio when available | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| High on public reels/posts | Low–medium | Yes | Private links fail as expected | |
| TikTok | Medium–high | Medium | Yes | Short links may expire |
| Medium | Medium | Mixed | Depends on watch/reel visibility | |
| Twitter/X | Medium–high | Low–medium | Yes | Status URLs only |
| Snapchat | Variable | Medium | Mixed | Spotlight availability changes |
Quantitative CSV summaries will be added after four weekly cycles. For comparison context, see Instagram downloader comparison.
How to reproduce
